Nebraska Repertory Theatre June 2025 Auditions for Fall Semester.
Seeking Principal actors to work alongside students in our 2 main stage shows--Eurydice and Murder on the Orient Express.
These in-person auditions are open to current AEA members only. No email / online submissions will be accepted.
Murder on the Orient Express:
Monday, June 2: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Please prepare 2 contrasting contemporary monologues, 1 dramatic (no accent) and a second comedic (choose any non-British European accent), not to exceed 5 minutes combined.

Eurydice:
Actors of all ages, ethnicities, body types, and genders are encouraged to audition. Please feel free to audition regardless of the age and gender listed for each character.
EURYDICE'S FATHER (Will be cast with AEA Actor) Resident of the underworld, watches Eurydice from afar, gently cares for her after her death and helps her remember details of her life. Role is available.
EURYDICE: Eurydice is the protagonist. She loves books, and is always truthful. (Pre-Cast Student)
ORPHEUS: He is an infamously talented musician and composer who prefers music to words. (Pre-Cast Student)
A NASTY INTERESTING MAN: He is the catalyst of Eurydice’s death, makes a deal with Orpheus, and wants Eurydice for his bride. Transforms from Nasty Interesting Man to death metal child lord of the underworld and grows 10 ft tall (Pre-Cast Student)
BIG STONE, LITTLE STONE, LOUD STONE: The stones reside in the underworld and communicate with the audience as well as other characters. (Pre-Cast Students)
MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS:
Actors of all ages, ethnicities, body types, and genders are encouraged to audition. Please feel free to audition regardless of the age and gender listed for each character.
Hercule Poirot (Will be Cast by AEA Actor) (French accent) 40’s – 60’s. Famous Belgian detective; a “Big” personality; authoritative, witty, charismatic and slightly pompous; driven to find the answers, good or bad, with a strong moral sense. Role is available.
Monsieur Bouc (French accent) 30’s – 60’s. A Belgian of good humor. Must be an excellent comedian. (Pre-Cast Student)
Colonel Arbuthnot: Scotsman, also middle aged, handsome, very matter of fact, occasionally tender; must have great comic timing. (Pre-Cast Student)
Samuel Ratchett: middle-aged American businessman. (Pre-Cast Student)
Helen Hubbard (Minnesota accent) 40’s – 70’s. An outspoken and flamboyant American from the Midwest. Also sings. (Pre-Cast Student)
Countess Andrenyi (Hungarian accent) 30’s – 50’s. Brilliantly beautiful, like something out of a fairytale. (Pre-Cast Student)
Mary Debenham (English accent) 20’s – 30’s. An English beauty; a governess. (Pre-Cast Student)
Princess Dragomiroff (Russian accent) 40’s – 70’s. Russian dowager; very formal. (Pre-Cast Student)
Hector MacQueen (American) 20’s – 50’s. Tightly wound, edgy and nervous. (Pre-Cast Student)
Michel the Conductor (French accent). (Pre-Cast Student)
Marcel: a Turkish waiter, snooty, smooth. (Pre-Cast Student)
Greta Ohlsson: (Swedish accent) 20’s – 60’s. Inherently odd, and very devout Swede. (Pre-Cast Student)
