Conference
USITT hosts an annual conference that brings together manufacturers, colleges, theatre companies, technicians, designers, and stage managers from across the industry. This event features a wide range of opportunities, including educational workshops, group events, an opening ceremony, and showcases of the latest theatrical technology. Additionally, it provides invaluable networking opportunities for attendees.
Our chapter is able to participate in this conference each year thanks to the generous support of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film (JCSTF) and Hank Straton. The conference allows us to explore career opportunities, learn from industry professionals, engage with companies about their equipment and programs, connect with peers, discover graduate programs, and participate in master classes.
Furthermore, our chapter hosts a booth where we promote both our organization and the university, advocating for JCSTF while recruiting prospective undergraduate and graduate students. This presence also helps us establish connections with industry leaders. Beyond professional development, the conference fosters camaraderie within our chapter, making it a truly valuable and enriching experience for all involved.
